Global Studies
Global Studies is an elective course designed to teach you about some of the most pressing issues facing our world today. The course will employ a variety of learning tools, including classroom discussion, debate, film, surveys, individual research, novel study, group research, historical analysis, etc. Through these methods, the overall goal of the course will be for you to develop critical thinking skills to analyze a variety of contemporary global issues and arrive at your own conclusions. The course will provide a foundation in understanding contemporary global issues.
Our course begins with a simple question: Why are some countries in today’s world rich, and others poor? The fact of global inequality will be a recurring theme throughout the course as we study its causes and ask what, if anything, can be done to improve our globe and the citizens who inhabit it.

Globalization Human Rights Trade Development Foreign Aid Gender Issues
Terrorism International Organizations Environmental Issues Political Ideologies
